ABOUT
Principal - Michelle
Michelle is our owner, principal and dance instructor here at Ivy's Performing Arts School. She is South African born, but grew up in New Zealand spending her youth in Dunedin before moving to Auckland for university. She then met her now fiancé and together they moved to Perth and have been living in Perth for 6 years.
Michelle first began dancing at the age of 2 and has danced ever since. She studied ballet, jazz and contemporary throughout her schooling years, developing not only her technique but also passion for dance. She began to teach dance for her dance school, specialising in the early years dance age group.
After high school, Michelle moved to Auckland to complete a Bachelor of Dance Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) at The University of Auckland, NZ.
After moving to Perth, Michelle began working as an early childhood teacher at long day cares and primary schools. At the same time she set up her show production business - Ivy Cabaret - which specialises in producing top quality cabaret and variety shows for adults.
Michelle missed teaching dance and wanted to share her knowledge and passion with others and thus Ivy's Performing Arts School was created.
